    Blog Post #8

This particular issue stuck out to me not only because of foxes being my all-time favorite animal but also because of the importance they have on the environment. My type of audience is going to remain the same, open to those who are interested in learning about foxes (including those who love them). Exigence The main beings who need access/inclusion/justice/advocacy are those passionate about animal rights, those interested in learning about foxes, and even…

    Blog Post #6

In Jesse Stommel’s article “Ungrading: An Introduction”, Stommel presents a few interesting alternatives to that how our grading systems are being used in all classrooms in the United States, from elementary grade school, to high school, all the way up to college. One of the few key keyliners that stuck out to me after reading the article was this: “Minimal Grading: Using scales with fewer gradations to make grading ‘simpler, fairer, clearer’…”. When it comes to grading itself, this is one of the few things during my educational time period that can make me anxious sometimes. 9/19 – 9/20 Stock Story/Counterstory Shitty Draft

(written on 9/19 + drafted and reviewed on 9/20) Charlize Parra ENGL 201W 09/19/2023 Stockstory and Counterstory Shitty Draft Introduction Stock stories and counterstories. Both are the most simplistic and generalized perception of how we see one person, a group of people, specific places, and things. Think of it like a stereotype booked in a story for all to see, of how we assumed distinctive things, people, and places to be in this standard, but it isn’t always true when we find out that it is way more dissimilar than we initially thought it to be. Because many young teens and adults wanted to fit into a specific group and…

    Short Stories and Counterstories

Short stories, in general definition, are the mostly simplistic and generalized perception of how we see a group of people, specific places, and things. Think of it like a stereotype of some sort, of how we assume specific things, people, and places to be in this specific standard, but it isn’t always true when we find out that it is way more different than we thought it to be. What would be a good example of a short story for me in my life personally? I can remember it in clear detail. Most of you know the common feeling of students wanting to fit in their academic environment, and this…
